For six years now, I’ve poured my heart and soul into Where It Begins magazine, a platform dedicated to celebrating stories that inspire, journeys that empower, and voices that demand to be heard. It’s been a wild ride, each issue bringing new challenges, connections, and unforgettable moments. And here we are now—our 37th issue! Yes, 37! It’s incredible to reflect on how far this magazine has come and the impact it has made.
This issue is particularly special, as it’s all about talent and drive. The cover star? None other than Amber Balcaen, a professional race car driver on a mission. Amber is not just breaking barriers in a male-dominated sport—she’s shattering stereotypes, one race at a time. Her story is one of resilience, ambition, and sheer determination, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting person to headline an issue dedicated to the grit and passion that fuel success.

In this 37th edition of Where It Begins, we’re diving deep into what it truly means to have “the drive.” It’s not just about speed on a track; it’s about the internal motor that keeps us going when the odds are stacked against us. Amber’s journey is a testament to what happens when talent meets perseverance. She’s not just racing for herself—she’s paving the way for women in motorsports and inspiring a new generation to dream big and never settle.
This issue is packed with stories of individuals who embody that same spirit of determination and grit. From musicians climbing the charts to entrepreneurs breaking ground in their industries, this is a celebration of those who refuse to take their foot off the gas. It’s a tribute to the dreamers and the doers, the fighters and the trailblazers, and everyone in between who dares to chase what sets their soul on fire.
As I worked on this issue, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own journey with Where It Begins. Six years ago, I had a vision to create a space where stories could be shared, journeys could be highlighted, and people could feel seen. Every issue represents a labor of love, countless hours of brainstorming, interviewing, editing, and creating something that feels meaningful—not just to me, but to all of you who read it.
Amber’s story, and the stories of so many others featured in this issue, remind me why I started this magazine in the first place. It’s about celebrating the talent and the drive in all of us. It’s about where the journey begins and how we choose to keep going, even when the road gets rough.
So, here’s to six years of storytelling, to 37 issues of inspiration, and to the endless possibilities ahead. Buckle up and enjoy this issue—it’s going to be a thrilling ride!
